Location: Medellin, Colombia
As the Head of Data Engineering Services - LATAM you will:
- Work closely with Aimpoint Digital leadership and the Data Engineering and Infrastructure lead to further develop our LATAM strategy
- Be responsible for identifying and recruiting talented data engineers to join the LATAM Aimpoint Digital team
- Ensure that the Aimpoint Digital culture is developed and upheld across the team through mentorship and collaboration
- Work and guide the team to work with modern tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran and dbt
- Lead a portfolio of managed services and migrations for clients
- Build relationships across our current client base and identify new opportunities in the LATAM market
- Build and manage relationships with universities and innovation centers that can support the growth of the Aimpoint Digital brand
- Manage the P&L for the LATAM region

As the Head of Data Engineering Services - LATAM, you will be expected to support in the strategic development of Aimpoint Digital, grow and retain a new team of talented data engineers, manage and grow relationships in the market, support in the delivery of US client-based work, aid in business development, manage a P&L, and contribute innovative ideas to continue growing our company.
- Degree-educated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in consulting or related field
- 8+ years of experience building and managing teams
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing stakeholders and collaborating with US based customers
- Strong network of both clients and analytics professionals in the region
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Microsoft Synapse)
- Experience working with ETL/ELT tools (Fivetran, dbt, Matillion, Informatica, Talend, etc.)
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- 8+ years working with relational databases and query languages
- 8+ years building data pipelines in production and ability to work across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
- 8+ years data modeling (e.g. star schema, entity-relationship)
- 5+ years writing clean, maintainable, and robust code in Python, Scala, Java, or similar coding languages is desirable
- Expertise in software engineering concepts and best practices and/or DevOps
- Experience preparing data for analytics and following a data science workflow to drive business results is desirable
- Must live in Medellin, Colombia or be willing to relocate to Medellin
